We have created the following guidelines to help make sure that all our Twitter followers use our page in a safe and friendly manner and that everyone has the best possible experience.
Guidelines
Never post personal financial information on Twitter - it is a public forum which means anyone can see your tweets and your tweets may appear in search engine results.
Our team will post tweets between 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday however we will not respond directly to any tweets. For any customer service queries, please tweet @TalktoBOI. Please read their Twitter guidelines before doing so.
Our Twitter page is public, which means that anyone can see our tweets. Unless you protect your tweets, anyone can see your tweets and your tweets may even appear in search engine results (e.g. Google and Yahoo). You should be mindful of the information you publish online and never include your account details in a tweet or include them in a direct message. In order to protect your security, we will not be able to discuss queries that are related to the specifics of your account. If you have a query relating to your account we will take this conversation away from the public domain and resolve your query via private message or a pre-arranged telephone call.
While we are delighted to hear from everyone, it is important to bear in mind that this is an open forum and opinions tweeted by other users do not necessarily represent the views of, or constitute advice from, Bank of Ireland UK.
